Here in our village we are trying very hard to ensure our residents do not feel isolated. Even though our Community Centre is in ‘lockdown’, there are ways we can still meet and chat and enjoy each other’s company.
Thursday Craft continued with Joan & Denise enjoying the outside (even a little rain) Morning tea from a flask and we stayed much longer really enjoying our chats.
Chris always enjoyed doing his jigsaw puzzles in the library. He could be seen there every day. So, after Callie and I saw him wandering around the centre looking lost, we set up a table with his puzzles outside. Now folk walking their dogs chat to him and he told me he loves it outside.
We have covered pagodas all around the village and these have been used for neighbours to stop and chat and also a ‘carer’ doing exercises with one of our villagers which was heartening to see.
